This is Lupe Fiasco's American Terrorist feat. Matthew Santos taken from Lupe's debut Food and Liquor.

Overall a very nice track, one of the better lyrical ones on the album.

My "Mixtape"

As i said before i spend a lot of time on Yahoo! Answers, especially on the Rap Hip Hop section. Most newcomers or strangers to the section think that this section is where we can questions like, "When is Eminem's New CD droppin?", or "What is the name of this song?". Instead, it's more like questions like "Rap Hip Hop Game?" or "Most annoying Troll in this section?" or "Low End Theory > Midnight Marauders, Buy Or Sell?" For most regs the RHH section, we use this question to play games or test each other's knowledge or hip hop and sometimes just to debate topics.

My question that caught my eye was, "RHH Mixtape?" and it was a game. You had too just put iTunes on shuffle and choose the first 15 songs that would be your mixtape.
Anyways here is mine...
1. Slick Rick- Adults Only
2. Jim Jones- We Fly High (Ballin')
3. Kanye West- Breathe In Breathe Out
4. Lupe Fiasco- Hello/Goodbye (Uncool)
5. Atmosphere- Glasshouse
6. Nas- Hate Me Now
7. Immortal Technique- Freedom of Speech
8. KRS-One- The Eye Opener
9. Ghostface Killah- Dogs of War
10. Pete Rock- Let's Go
11. Talib Kweli- Hip Hop is...
12. Papoose- Stylin'
12. T.I - Live Your Life
13. Q-Tip- Shaka
14. Jedi Mind Tricks- Godflesh
15. Nas- The World Is Yours

Yeah i just thought that was pretty cool...

More youtube!

Wow yes! I finally got my Hotspot Shield to work so i might as well post up a bunch of Youtube links while i can! :D

Okay... Down here we have Cunninlynguists- The Gates (feat. Tonedeff) from one of my all-time fav albums, A Piece of Strange. Kno's production on this track is amazing. He uses several loops, strings (guitars i think) and a mysterious backdrop of a girl singing/wailing. Lyrically this song is deep, as it deals with a man meeting God at "The Gates" and talking about his life, raising his baby girl alone, his inner struggles etc... Also guest Tonedeff who plays the man does so superbly with matchless flow and emotion.
My favourite track from A Piece of Strange and one of my favourite Cunninlynguists songs.

Best Albums of the 1st Quarter

For those of you who don't know, K'Naan is a one of a kind rapper, born in Somalia he later immigrated to New York before settling down in Toronto, Canada. Troubadour is his 2nd studio album, in his 2nd album, K'Naan again deals with a wide range of topics from his childhood to Somalian Pirates. That said, his sound moves more from rap to alternative rap, or more popish. Guests include Kirk Hammett (of Metallica), Chubb Rock, Mos Def, Chali 2Na, Damian Marley and Adam Levine (of Maroon 5). Production was also pretty solid from Track and Field. 8.5/10

CunninLynguist's first concept album A Piece of Strange is an amazing piece of work, and the emcees from the south again live up to expectations. This albums deals with a man's struggles with raising a baby girl alone, right and wrong in addition to quoting multiple bibical references. Guests include Immortal Technique, Tonedeff and Cee-Lo, in addition the production by Kno is amazing. He's use of loops, horns and keyboards add to the albums depth. 9/10.

Nas and Kelis filing for divorce!!

It's official! Nas and Kelis are officially filing for divorce! After 2 years of dating and about 4 years of marriage its officially over. Right now Kelis is 7 months pregnent with a baby boy. And Nas is stuck with a Kelis tatoo on his arm... maybe he should ask Pharrell for a professional tat remover.

T&F Day

Woohoo! Tomorrow is Track and Field Day! Another day of school wasted HAHA.
This year the events i'm doing are the 100m ,400m, 800m, and also the long jump, i dropped the 1500 last minute...
Anyways yeah i'm timings for this year (not all my best) are: 100m: 13.8, 400: 1:05, 800: 2:40, all my running events are pretty good for a 14 year old freshmen, but my long jump is measly 3.6 metres! Meh

Also i'm representing my "region" (kinda like houses) for the 4x100m relay. Today in our first practice we got 55 seconds which is pretty bad. Hopefully we'll improve it tomorrow!

Roots 2nd annual picnic

http://www.okayplayer.com/rootspicnic/

Aight okay to keep along with this whole "rap hip hop concert" theme, i have just found the lineup for the 2nd annual Roots picnic. This year it features Public Enemy, Asher Roth, Black Keys, Tv on the Radio, Antibalas, Kid Cudi and more. This years lineup doesn't really impress me, i guess the only real point of going would be to see The Roots or Public Enemy, also having Kid Cudi is also another good way of attracting more people.

http://rapgodfathers.com/news/8287-rare-public-enemy-performance-highlights-roots-2nd-annual-picnic

Lasts years lineup was pretty solid overall too, Gnarls Barkley, The Cool Kids, Jazzy Jeff, Sharon Jones and more etc. If you guys are in Philly around early June go check it out!

Rock The Bells 2009

Alright guys, i'm still getting used to using this blog tool/thing/whatever but from what i've seen of other blogger's pages, this shit is pretty cool. Anyways, as usual i got off task in Chinese class and started looking at other things, NBA scores, facebook etc. when i came across Guerilla Union's Rock The Bells 2009 Lineup.

http://guerillaunion.com/ scroll down for the poster.
At first glance i thought it would be weaker than last years lineup
http://consequenceofsound.net/2008/04/22/rock-the-bells-reveals-2008-lineup/
with artists like Nas, A Tribe Called Quest, Mos Def, De La Soul, Ghostface, Immortal Technique, Murs, Dead Prez, Raekwon etc. last years hosts were B-Real, Supernatural and Scratch
A lineup like that is pretty damn hard to beat, but thats when i checked out the 2009 lineup, Nas, The Roots, Common, Big Boi, KRS-One, Damian Marley, Talib Kweli, RZA, Raekwon, and of course... K'Naan! Anyways this years host are pretty spectacular too: Pete Rock, Murs, Supernatural...and KRS-One!

Anyways check it out guys! Hopefully Rock The Bells 09 will come to a city near you! Unfortunately for me however, i haven't heard of any other Rap concerts down in Beijing, China so i guess i'll just have to watch the concert online or download a video of it.

Peace.

School

Today in Chinese class, i watches this boring ass video on Blogging. This in turn made me want to write my own blog, but the weird thing is in the video, it was an interview. And the "famous" blogger interviewed turned out to be a 4 year old girl... So yeah, whatever she can do, i can do better :D
